Rose Valley Water Co. was founded by Lyle, Sr. and Ethel Patrick in 1958. Needing to provide water for their west valley family ranch in what was called “Dove Valley,” the Patrick’s drilled their own water wells. Soon they began providing water for neighboring ranches and homes that didn’t want to drill their own wells.

Over the years pieces of the ranch were sold off to small developers and people looking for a chance to build a home away from the city life. By 1991 Rose Valley Water Co. serviced approximately 200 homes north of Deer Valley Road and West of 83rd Avenue. In 1997, developers who had previously acquired the land south of Deer Valley Road began constructing 2,100 additional homes. Since then, those homes have been built and are serviced by Rose Valley Water Co. Today, Rose Valley Water Co., provides water to more than 2,300 households in the west valley.

Widowed in the early 1970’s, Ethel called on three of her grandchildren to help her operate the growing water company. The company and its tradition were passed along for them to continue in 1996.

Rose Valley Water Co. acquired its name because 40 acres of the Patrick’s ranch was leased to graft special hybrids of roses. Local neighbors, enjoying the beauty of the roses, nicknamed the area “Rose Valley”.
